Blue Zen is the author's collection of amusing and sometimes bizarre memories of his exploits in exotic places. Some of the adventures contain interesting life lessons from a man whose survival up to this day is amazing. Most of us don't have the need to stretch the envelope at all times, but it is a lot of fun to read the stories by one of those who did. You won't say "been there, done that" very many times while reading this entertaining book.

This is a well-written, easy-to-read, collection of remarkable stories about the author's entrepreneurial adventures traveling, living, trading and surviving with his family in Mexico and Central America during the 1960’s and 70’s. Through his crazy, breathtaking escapades Mommsen gives the reader an honest and amusing glimpse into what this tropical frontier was truly like during this corrupt almost lawless time in Latin America. I did not want to put it down once I started reading it. Highly recommended.
